Heath Sorenson, MBA, CFP®, CFIRS™

Heath has provided results-driven leadership and expertise in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. He currently serves as President of Midland Trust Company, a subsidiary which focuses on providing trust and property guardian services to individuals with special needs. He also serves as Chief Operating Officer of Midland Wealth Management, where he provides leadership and direction for the long-term performance and efficiency of the division. Heath is a member of the Bank’s Directors’ Trust Committee and also the board of directors of Midland Trust Company and Midland Financial Advisors, an SEC registered investment advisor.
Prior to joining Midland, his experience included positions as Vice President - Investment/Capital Market Operations for a Midwestern regional bank holding company and as Chief Operating Officer of its brokerage/RIA subsidiary. Heath received his MBA from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. He has completed Northwestern University’s financial planning program, the Cannon Financial Institute’s Trust Audit, Compliance and Risk Management School, and Cannon’s Securities Operations School. Heath is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) and also holds the Certified Fiduciary and Investment Risk Specialist (CFIRS™) designation. Heath is active in the community and currently serves on the Midway Village Museum’s board of directors.
